Yeah, I've got pretty much everything too by now. His last album, "Ashes and Fire", was really good. Never seen him live, but would love to. Have you?

Yeah, I've seen him twice, should have been three but he fell off stage and broke his wrist a few days before another gig!

First time was a few years ago, mainly Gold/Demolition stuff, was brilliant.

Second time was also good, though despite having loads of albums out and plenty to choose from, he didn't play a single song off any until the encore! Which was ... interesting. Crowd got a bit antsy!

Ryan Adams is a name I haven't heard in many years.

Like the title of a Kinks album: Give The People What They Want...ey.

He seems to keep a lower profile and put out less music than he used to. I remember he put out three albums in one year once, one of which was a double album. Even for a fan, that felt like too much!

I think he's sober now and lives a relativley normal life. He's not a maniac anymore. Putting out 3 albums in a year was a way of feeding his drunken ego.

Hey, they were good though! Cold Roses is one of my favourites of his.

I didn't say they were bad...it's just not a very healthy lifestyle, everything was excessice with him at that time. By the way, Cold Roses is my favourite (as excessive as a double album can be).

I remember him from the early 00s. I'm fairly sure I remember there was some rumour that he recorded a cover version of The Strokes first album. Don't think it ever leaked if it was true.

Should be at a Yardbirds gig tonight but had to cancel as I smashed my car up.

Original guitarist Top Topham is back with them now too.

Annoying. I hope you'll get another chance to see them...and a New car.

So was he playing new stuff, or stuff that hadn't made it onto albums, or covers, or a mix? Sounds intriguing.

I associate him strongly with the Smiths, he was a huge fan. Wonder if he's covered any of their songs?

What a shame!

Top Topham :) That's a name I won't forget in a hurry.

For some reason "Thick As Thieves" popped into my head this evening.

Found a live version.

Comes in at 3.23.

I've no idea now, they probably turned up on some album or other later on.

Okay. Interesting. Ta!

Wish I'd made it to his Teenage Cancer Trust gig at the Albert Hall last year.

The song "Strays" off the album of the same name is one of my favourite songs of all time

Underrated band JA

Yeah, sounds like a character name from an 80s action movie. "Charlie Sheen is Top Topham...he's not afraid of Russian spies!"
