Oss 117

Hopefully I got the title right, otherwise this is quite embarrassing...

Has anyone seen the series of these French Bond Spoofs? I've seen them lurking on the DVD shelves and also stroked my beard in curiosity, but are they recommended or rancid? Let me know you lovely people you!

PLDM

There's one on BBC4 this week. Tuesday, I think. And currently on the iPlayer too.

I've heard good things about these. I'll check it out.

Cairo Nest of Spies; very impressive. Beautifully filmed - I had to check that it was really made in 2006, the period feel is done so well. It is spoof spy territory but much slyer and more observant than toss like Austin Powers or Johnny English. My favourite exchange was after OSS 117 had committed yet another chauvinistic cultural gaffe:

Sultry Egyptian beauty: "You're very... French."

OSS 117: "Why, thank you!"

Thanks folks!

I've also just realized I put this in the wrong section. Just confidently walk away...
