Cavemen

All expressions must originate somewhere. I want to know where the expression 'finger in your bum' comes from. e.g. "David, get your finger out of your bum and start doing your homework." - I wonder if it originates from Cavemen times...

(Subtitles to basic homosapien noises)

Caveman 1: Do we have fire today?

Caveman 2: No, John hasn't got the firewood yet.

Caveman 1: Why not?

Caveman 2: He still has his finger in his bum.

Caveman 1: Why does he do that?

Caveman 2: He says he puts the hunted animals in there and now he can't retrieve them.

Caveman 1: Well it will be hard to get it out with a finger.

Caveman 2: Yes, I did offer help last moon time. We tried several positions to try and get them out.

Caveman 1: Did you use any tools?

Caveman 2: Just my downstairs finger. But you can only use it when its pointing to the gods. Otherwise it will not go in his bum.

Caveman 1: But you did not find any animals?

Caveman 2: No. But we found those white spirits that were hiding in my downstairs finger. They flew out all over his hide.

Caveman 3: Ok, that's just gay.

This seems more of a windup than a sketch, like wise the Hawkin one

Is it?

It's not my type of humour but I bet it would appeal to many others and in comedy terms it's a lot better (imho) than most of the other stuff I've read in Critique.

Irrelevant. Nobody else respond to this.

This didn't work for me.

I think Bussell should come here and say that himself, rather than getting one of his lackeys to do it for him.

Shut it, Murphy!

That's it, Murphy, you just made the list!

(thankfully it's a xmas card list - what is your address by the way?)

A great many people would say the same, Your Lordship, but lots of youngsters coming home from the pub on a Friday night would like it (imho, of course).

P.S. I love Kevin Murphy. <3

Why late night coming home from a pub particularly? And how young are you imagining?
