We used to put our fair ground fish in the pond and they lived for AGES. Like 10-15 years or so. Think they were mostly still alive when we moved house and left them.

Oh poor Bob. I expect he had a good life even though it was a short one.
We used to win fairground fish all the time. My mum always told us not to go on that stall but we always did. I don't think any of them survived longer than a year or two. I do remember one flipping out of the bowl and landing on the floor, then slipping across the lino under the piano where he flipped and flapped for quite a while before it all went quiet. I probably should have told someone. We wouldn't have had to put up with that terrible smell and turn the house upside down if I had.
