Golf Stinks

EXT. DAY: TEE, 1st GREEN. PAR FOUR.

BLOKE 1: COUPLA PRACTICE SWINGS AND THEN ADDRESSES THE BALL. (NO POST CODE REQUIRED) HE LIFTS THE CLUB OVER HIS SHOULDER AND THEN, WITH EXTREME EXERTION, BRINGS IT SWINGING DOWN, SMACKS THE BALL DOWN THE FAIRWAY AND AT THE SAME TIME LETS ONE GO.

BLOKE 2: SNIFFS THE AIR, GLANCES EVILLY AT BLOKE ONE, THEN TAKES HIS SHOT.

FAIRWAY. BOTH BALLS LIE CLOSE TOGETHER.

BLOKE 1: SELECTS A WOOD. COUPLA PRACTICE SWINGS, THEN ADDRESSES THE BALL. THE
LIE IS GOOD BUT TALL TREES OBSCURE THE APPROACH TO THE GREEN. HE LIFTS THE WOOD
BACK OVER HIS SHOULDER AND WITH ENORMOUS EFFORT HE BRINGS IT SLASHING DOWN,LETS
ONE GO,FLICKS HIS WRISTS AND THE BALL CURVES ROUND THE TREES, CLIMBS GRACIOUSLY INTO THE AIR AND LANDS A COUPLA INCHES AWAY FROM THE HOLE.

BLOKE 2: SNIFFS THE AIR, GLANCES EVILLY AT BLOKE 1. HIS NEXT SHOT CARRIES THE
BALL DOWN THE CENTRE OF THE FAIRWAY. THE BEST HE CAN HOPE FOR IS TO MAKE PAR.

THE BLOKES STROLL DOWN THE FAIRWAY TO BLOKE 2's BALL. HE SEVEN IRON'S IT ONTO THE GREEN BUT IT'S TEN FEET FROM THE HOLE. HE LINES UP THE PUT AND, WITH GREAT DELIBERANCE, STROKES THE BALL STRAIGHT INTO THE CUP.

BLOKE 1: JUST TAPS HIS BALL IN FOR A BIRDIE.

BLOKE 2: How come you didn't fart this time?

BLOKE 1: No need to follow through, was there?

Nice build up but I don't really get the punchline.

I appreciate that the swing of a wood has a follow through and a putt doesn't - but the term 'follow through' has connotations with shitting yourself.
So maybe it needs reworking that he doesn't fart but actually craps his pants

Fair point - except that there's a not so subtle diff. between following though and shitting yourself.
Thus the use of "letting one go". Nonetheless your point is valid.
Perhaps, after whacking the ball and watching it fly, BLOKE 1 could say:
How's that for a steamer!?
