A FAMILY FRONT LIVING ROOM
FATHER IS PLAYING WITH HIS TWO YOUNG CHILDREN

FATHER IS RUNNING ABOUT ON ALL FOURS AS THE 2 CHILDREN JUMP FROM THE COUCH AND CHAIRS ONTO HIS BACK.

MUCH SCREAMING AND LAUGHING ENSUES AS HE TRIES TO BUCK THEM OFF RODEO STYLE.
AS EACH CHILD IS BUCKED OFF THEY RUN BACK ONTO THE COUCH ETC TO RIDE HIM AGAIN.

ENTER MOTHER

MOTHER
Sorry to spoil your fun children
but it's nearly time for mark's dental checkup appointment
and the bus will be here very soon.

THERE ARE 'AAH'S FROM THE CHILDREN AS THEY STOP PLAYING

MOTHER
Come on Mark get your coat.

CUT TO
EXT. DAY

IT IS GENTLY SNOWING AND HAS SETTLED ON THE ROAD
MARK AND HIS MOTHER ARE JOINING A QUEUE FOR THE BUS.
THE QUEUE CONSISTS OF SIX PEOPLE
ALL ARE SLIGHTLY LOOKING DOWN AS THE SNOW FLAKES BLOW AGAINST THEM
NO ONE ACKNOWLEDGES ANYONE ELSE.

O.S A YELP IS HEARD

ALL THE FACES IN THE QUEUE MOVE SLOWLY AS ONE
TO LOOK AT WHERE THE SOUND CAME FROM.

WE SLOWLY PAN ACROSS THE FACES

FIRST IS AN OLD LADY HER EYES ARE WIDE IN SUPRISE
NEXT A TEENAGE BOY, HE IS SMILING
A TEENAGE GIRL, SHE IS BLUSHING
A YOUNG MAN, HE IS STIFLING A LAUGH
A MIDDLE AGED WOMAN, SHE HAS A LOOK OF HORROR
ANOTHER MIDDLE AGED WOMAN, SHE LOOKS AWAY IN DISGUST
MOTHER, SHE LOOKS AT MARK TO SEE HIS REACTION
MARK, HE IS LOOKING PUZZLED.

CUT TO
OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD
TWO DOGS ARE MATING FURIOUSLY IN THE SNOW
IT IS HAMMER AND TONG STUFF

CUT BACK TO
THE BUS QUEUE
ALL THE PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME EXPRESSIONS AS BEFORE

MARK (LOUDLY)
Mummy, those dogs are doing what daddy does arn't they mummy.

ALL THE FACES IN THE QUEUE MOVE SLOWLY AS ONE
TO LOOK AT MARK AND MOTHER.

END

Nice one! I'd tightn it up a little though e.g. I thought the 'dental check-up' was specific and you didn't need the long build-up of faces' expressions. Enjoyed it though.

You haven't mentioned the snow - and that means you understand why it's there.

Thank you for the critique, it's very helpful
And the snow (in my dramatic minds eye as I wrote it) was so that the whole queue was looking down. Then as each face turned to look at the dogs - their different expressions at the same event could be registered.

Nice gag. Very descriptive with the snow etc which I think added to it.
