Terrible actors in good films Page 6

Perhaps I did not get the thread title quite right. This is what I had in mind:

This thread would be better off called, "Actors you usually can't stomach in ace movies."

Which would explain the inclusion of Jack Nicholson in your opening post :O I was going to take it up with you at some point. You've made amends, good.

Erm, Warren Beatty in Bonnie & Clyde

Robert Redford in Three Days of the Condor, Butch & Sundance but NOT The Sting (awful film)

Faye Dunnaway in Chinatown

Dennis Quaid in...er, er, er...no maybe not then.

Redford's fantastic in All The President's Men.

And Quaid's best film is Innerspace. :)

I love Quaid and think he should have been a bigger star. His best films are The Big Easy and The Right Stuff.

True, just not quite my fave film, for me it's slightly over cerebral, and in the end took too much inspiration from The Manchurian Candidate. imo. Three Days of the Condor's better, much more fluid and no less complicated. imo.

I just love all films about newspapers. :)
Should have tried to be a journalist, really.

Can I go back and start again?

Never too late but I wouldn't bother, personally, far too much competition, courses are oversubscribed and the majority of journos barely scrape a living compared to the 'names' at the top.

Quaid I can't see as Quaid for some reason, in any film I watch him in I see this less able wannabe Jack Nicholson, surely can't just be me?

wannabe Jack Nicholson,

Isn't that Christian Slater??

Slater was very good in Name Of The Rose, imo. Slightly disappointing film tho. Haven't really followed his career since.

I couldn't believe it when I found out Randy was his brother. They could hardly look more different.

Very odd. Randy's also a much better actor!

John Heder in Lawrence of Arabia.

Orlando Bloom in The first Pirates film.

Orlando Bloom in LOTR.

Good call. God, he's shite. And why do people fancy him? He looks like a Thai lady boy.
