Surely grammar is an evolving system without an original inventor. That grammar exists at all tells us more about the typically anal nature of humanity that we needed to formalise the way we express ourselves within a system of rules.

I love grammar, btw.

Stephen Birch's avatar is excellent. It always makes me chuckle - much like the one of the Hoff going: 'No, dude you are the homo" - whoever that is. Sorry Whomever that is.

I imagine it was someone attempting to convey that he intended to do something in the future rather than that something had been done to him in the past. Or something like that.

The conveyencing must've made that someone a bit tense, eh?
