Cuts

How, in God's name, could anyone have voted for a party that included George Gideon Oliver Osbourne and which promised to put him in charge of the county's finances?

'Hey, you are a family with one person earning £44000 per annum so we're taking your Child Benefit away. But you, a family with each parent earning £43000 per annum (that's ££86000 per annum George if your calculator battery is flat) can keep yours.'

Just be thankful Tories don't have brains or we'd all be in trouble.

Course, we know what you'd do, don't we? You'd bring back your darling Harold, wouldn't ya? You lazy Scouse git!

No. Darlin' Tone that's who.

Or (be upstanding and doff caps to the one and only, best Prime Minister this country never had}

Let's hear it for Neil Kinnock !

I've not read much about this, but isn't it the idea to save money on benefits while not adding overly expensive means tests? Doesn't seem too outrageous to me, prima facie.

Oh Christ! I can guarantee you that any credibility you were garnering in your opening post has now all but vanished.

Fine line between means testing and setting salary caps.

Cheap way? Perhaps. Moral way? No.

Wanna save a f**k load of money?

Put Road tax into fuel prices. Puts a section of DVLA outta work. But saves so much admin and f**k arsery.

Sure you've thought that through, Gav?

Neil Kinnock was a terrible leader of the shadow cabinet. Discuss. I've read countless character assassinations of the man over the years - who after all only led a private party, not the country.

Of his 'many failings' some of the more popular ones seem to be that he was Welsh, ginger haired and once did a video with Tracey Ullman.

If you take away the columns of prejudice of Tory-aligned journo-wankers what are you left with? Was he really such a bad man? Enlighten me, anyone.

He did take on Militant et al. That was good.

He didn't really even try to modify the power of the unions within the Labour Party executive. That was bad - and left the Labour Party hopelessly unreconstructed (insofar of gaining enough credibility to be elected as a palatable left-centrist government) during his nine year tenure as leader.

Oh, and he married that batty old sourpuss, Glenys.

And how many people's views of him him are coloured by that disastrous night in Sheffield?

But what he did do was make Labour electable again via Tony.

Anyway, this thread is about Tory spending cuts!

What, by leading his party to such a farcical election defeat in 1992, that they didn't even notice when they elected a Tory as leader? Errr

Look, (as Tony would say!), we can get into a debate about the semantics of Centre Left Centre Right politics forever but, to return to my original point, we now have a Tory government who patently don't know their arse from their elbow.

Within the next twelve months people will be begging Thatcher to come back.

And, yes, I did mean a Tory government because the egregious Clegg is getting more and more marginalised.

Lib Dem voters, you got exactly what you deserved.

OK, sixth can empty, off to bed.

Night, night George. Sweet dreams.

(P.S. 'We're all in this together' . his personal wealth is estimated at £4m)

I know, I know. They should never have cut Labour's 'Arse & Elbow Differentiation For A Brighter Tomorrow' programme...

I already created a thread for tory spending cuts. It's here: https://www.comedy.co.uk/forums/thread/17775/

shouldn't we be trying to use the earlier thread instead of wasting money on a new one?
