BBC3 Monday 9.30 Sitcom Pilots Page 3

Well, I didn't update. So I shall now.

Potential. Lots of it. But needs cleaning up a bit. As the nutty one said, it got a bit too surreal towards the end, which didn't really fit in with what we'd seen at the beginning. But on the whole, pretty good.

Anyone know if the "Scum Also Rises" is being repeated as I missed it and really wanted to watch it.

only repeated if you are testing the BBC iPlayer

If anyone is interested they're finally going to repeat "Sound" in June. I missed it the first time. It's got Sam Riley in, the guy who is playing Joy Division's, Ian Curtis in the movie, "Control."

From radiotimes:

SoundFriday 08 June
11:30pm - 12:00am
BBC3
Sitcom pilot about Danny and Shay, two lads trapped in dead end jobs and still living at home, who decide to escape their humdrum lives by setting up a record label.

I enjoyed that one, i think it was the best one so far.

Hi!

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I was wondering whether anyone happened to record "The Scum Also Rises" when it was on?

I deleted my copy of it and am now wanting to track it down if anyone can help.

If there's some kind soul out there who can assist, please drop me a line!

Many thanks.

I may have it. Which episode was it?

Hi!

It's the one set in an advertising agency, with Adam Buxton, Kevin Bishop and Chris Barrie.

I have it(somewhere)if your still stuck.

These are two of the pilots mentioned here: https://www.comedy.co.uk/news/old_story/140/.

Spacehopper and Sound were on in March of the same year, a week apart from each other like the two above are. Oddly, though, Biffovision was first broadcast at 3 in the morning in the same week in March, and was later repeated a week after The Scum Also Rises, but at midnight instead of 9:30pm. Seems like a waste.

These pilots were shown not long after the Comedy Specials strand, as the news article above says. It seems like BBC Three wanted things to commission after that, as none of the Comedy Specials were commissioned, and four out of five of the pilots that followed were. Only the unfortunate Biffovision wasn't.
