The only money I've earned from writing is £125 for a greeting card joke which was tested but ultimately didn't make the shops and £11 something for a sketch with NewsRevue. I didn't cash it as it was my first payment for comedy.
I wish I knew what I did with it...

Does £1.00 not count as a 3 figure number? If not then the first one should probably be £1.01 which is a good 10p short of your lower estimate. I was once 10p short for the toll road on the M6 and had to reverse the whole way back to the start. Bloody jobsworths.
