Who was that?

Carly Smallman. Doubtless will have her own panel show soon.

Just watching it I thought she did okay, not really my cup of char but she was reasonably personable and amusing.

Personally I'm glad that more "unknown" acts are breaking through into TV it means that there might be a chance for me sometime in the future!

She sang a bizarre song about fancying her brother.
It was certainly different!

Carly Smallman.

First rule of comedy songs is they only work if they're actually good, well-written songs (hers wasn't). The second rule of comedy songs is, of course, don't do comedy songs.

This is the only rule of comedy songs. The song was shit, but Rob didn't help her with his tediously long intro.

Thankfully Flight of the Conchords ignored this rule.

Let me clarify myself - I'm really talking about in the context of (non-character comedy) stand up...

And I'll give Bill Bailey a pass on this one...

But not that Tim Minchin. Or that YouTube Yank boy who appears to be massively over-rated...

Most comedy songs though are simply tedious, neither working as a song, nor as comedy - And I'm prepared to stand by this theory...

Erm...
