Do Unproduced Writers Ever Get Commissioned? Page 3
I thought those were the words of Top Gear magazine.

I always (well, just now) thought that sounded more like the words of a Vietnamese prostitute trying to book someone in.

What is it about 'tapping into the zeitgeist' that I hate so much?
Sorry if I'm not making it clear - Of course no one likes to be rejected - my point was that writers that were commisioned in the old system (Flexipool - when every ITV company had a share of Network screen time) were now being rejected which came as a shock to them. It was never pleasant telling any writer that we would not be taking their script any further - some took it very badly - I was asked on many occasions whether I thought they weren't funny any more - I told them they were still funny but the Powers that be wanted change - everything was going to be Star led and not Script led and they wanted to get away from the "Rising Damp" style of comedy on ITV to something more upmarket - or starring George Cole (I read about twenty scripts written with him in mind) Remember "The 10%'s"? - not many people do - they wanted that sort of 'modern' comedy on ITV and couldn't understand why people were not viewing in their millions.
I love writers - turning a script down was always painful!
I hate the word Zeitgeist too - I was using it in an ironic sense - or I was trying too - failed again Gould......
I'm surprised the word Zeitgeist has been updated.

Is it the typing?
No, quite like typing. Does this mean you can do it, Marc P?
Only in Belgium.
