It was you, 'cause I'm awesome.

Stalker.

The show was alright. The audience all looked like mature students getting a free night out.

Wasn't me... But thanks for trying to spot me.

About a third were students. The warm up comedien was asking us.

It ended up being 5:39 on V+ (I've got it paused on your lovely face right now!), but it was definitely you. It was the second shot you've posted.

Oooooh! Yes okay, you got me!

I love stalking on BCG... it's so high tech nowadays! 100 points for Nat!

Tee hee. The picture's in my file.

They were all really nervous in the bits before it went on air. They did tell us too.

Oh and I can't believe none of you have commented on my fame.

Wave Love your pic! And Nats, do you get tickets for lots of shows?
If you do, which one has been your favourite?

I only caught the end so it looks like I missed the real cringey bits. I quite enjoyed the part I saw, tbh - maybe they had relaxed a little by then. I'll give it another watch for sure. The unscripted discussion parts could become entertaining.

Shame it goes against Newsnight and QT though. (Would've thought a Friday night slot might have suited it better.)

The picture's going in my laminator.

Lauren, bless her, has a proven track record of being the one you patiently sit through whilst waiting for Mark Kermode's bit on The Culture Show.

:)

Although she's cuter than a Five Live reporter droaning about the latest tennis 'action'.

Partly it seems like a vanity project to promote David Mitchell as the new David Frost. He was out of his depth. Terrible interviewer, nervously falling over his words. He doesn't need to blot his copybook with this shit.

It was bad, but comparing David Mitchell to an oily creep like Frost is a bit harsh.
Besides there is a new David Frost- Piers Morgan.

bott-spotting

You what now?

10 O'Clock Live... Y'know, was alright. My suspicions about Laverne were pretty much confirmed. Just seemed a bit wasted and pointless. She's not funny, so her 'funny' bits jarred. She's not a particularly incisive or impressive presenter, so the bits where she appeared to be 'chairing' the round-the-table segments jarred as well. I genuinely don't know why it is she has been chosen to present this/Alternative Election Night.

And yeah, Brooker did Newswipe-lite, which isn't a bad thing per se, but I wish he'd do the full show again if he's still interested in mocking and pointing out the absurdities in news coverage.

As for the rest, well it's all been said by previous posters: it wasn't offensively bad, but wasn't anything special. It didn't really have anything to say, and the 'satire' was little more than cheap student-politics level jibes with similarly shallow levels of understanding of the politics behind them.

Regarding Mitchell's interview: ok, perhaps it wasn't what many expected or hoped to see, but it was (AFAIK) the first he's done, so I'm perfectly happy to give him the benefit of the doubt over any shortcomings.

Overall, watching the show really made me long for the satire and mock-news/spoofery of The Comic Side Of 7 Days.

This show displays all the self-righteous impotent indignation of a 6th-form class debate. Unimpressed

That sexism backstage bit with Lauren was very funny.
She should do more bits like that.
