Not necessarily, you're making assumptions.

Yes, and for the reason given I would be surprised if the assumption was wrong.

It was a lame joke, whether original or plagiarised. Most of the pure gags in the show were of the same re-heated, predictable nature.

I don't even know what the gag was.

Would you do a surprised face and everything?

Quote: Matthew Stott @ January 21 2011, 12:31 PM GMT

I don't even know what the gag was.

Well you're not really in a position to criticise Timbo for making assumptions then, are you? ;)

Well, yes, actually! My not hearing it has nothing to do with whether anyone else had read and stolen it, has it?

It was only a first episode, it's got months yet, it's bound to alter to try and find what works best.

True, but this is the format that they've arrived at after (presumably) months of prepatory work and so it rather represents their best thinking. The format is flawed and the show has no clear identity or direction. Hard to make major changes once you're into a scheduled live run. And if you promote a show big from the start, as they have done, then it's got to deliver big, early.

:D

The show needed sketches to break it up a bit. That's why TW3 worked brilliantly and this one comes up short.

The blurb in the press for this, prior to transmission, was that the election special was a great success. I can't say that was my memory of it.

Press-release-puts-positive-spin-on-previous-track-record shocker!

I'm an innocent, Griff!

In the first section I was starting to think- 'Oh Dear', as they all seemed a bit nervous and I didn't feel it quite worked, but the more it went on, the better I thought it got.

They were all really nervous in the bits before it went on air. They did tell us too.

Oh and I can't believe none of you have commented on my fame.

I did see you, Ellie.
Go me!

Oh apart from Zooo! Yey!

So, Top Gear, 10 O'Clock Live...what's next for the Ellester?

I thought maybe I could see you for ages over Jimmy's shoulder (his right, our left) in his first long monologue too, but it was a bit hard to make out. :)

Embarrassing Bodies??

Embarrassing Bodies??

:O I say! (Monocle falls out)

I'm still trying to take it all in.

Did everyone notice Ellie clapping at 05:30? If you didn't, you lose 10 ellie points. Unless it wasn't her, and I lose 100.

It was you, 'cause I'm awesome.
