Whats this nonsense about swallowing spiders?
They're clean and packed full of protein. I have a weightlifter friend who is so obsessive, he releases spiders in his bed at night - around 20, sometimes 30 (he buys them from pet shops - food for certain reptiles). By morning there is no sign whatsoever of them. he reckons to consume around 10,000 spiders each year! He's never had any problems - and puts his prowess at knitting down to this being a side effect of his quirky initiative too - double bubble!
September's a great month for spiders in the house as they retreat indoors when they detect the onset of winter. However, due to the current Indian summer we are experiencing it may be a week or two before this phenomenon occurs.
If you are bothered about big furry spiders crawling into your warm cosy mouth whilst you sleep - simple answer - tape your mouth shut! This way you can't swallow any. On the other hand you will probably find them crawling into other orifices - but at least they can't be swallowed!
So develop a different attitude to our arachnic friends - just becasue they look scary and hairy and awful - doesn't mean they are. Mmmmmm.
