Radio Rejects-writing opportunity Page 20

I can confirm that your sketch went down very well.

It was very goodnight; the McGuffins were a lot of fun, as always were Radio Rejects. Good to reaquaint myself with some BCGers and to meet Badge for the first time; shame I missed Ponderer.

The gents door was indeed a pain; when you have got to go you have got to go, but some did make a performance of it. I think the guy who got up to go in the middle of my sketch and stopped to chat with a friend on the way was the same bloke Lydia put in his place for talking loudly over the punchline to one of the sketches.

Yes, he was an arse.

There were no duff sketches last night, I didn't think. One left me a bit confused but it was still funny. Nice writers' love-in going on at the back too :)

Agree that the Real MacGuffins were excellent. Go see if you're up in Edinburgh.

The movie hero - real guy sketch worked very well. The performance helped a lot and the biggest laughs were where the rhythm of the response was similar in both their replies. Good though -- got a lot of laughs, most notably by Frank Threapleton-Horrocks doing the 'movie hero' bit laughing at Dan March doing the 'real guy' bit.

Oh, and for reference, as this wasn't mentioned on any of the previous 19 pages of the thread when I scoured it yesterday, it costs £6 to get in.

Dan

Two very funny shows last night, and good company too. Good to meet Timbo and also sorry to miss Ponderer. I did wonder if Sunshine's infinite monkey sketch would ever end but it did.

Yeah. Sorry to miss everyone.

Just thought I'd add a big thank-you to Lydia and the team for creating a great opportunity to see our stuff on stage produced to such high standards. Despite only making it down from the midlands twice I thouroughly enjoyed it.

Also to Marc for creating and sharing a permanent record of the performances.

Looking forward to October already.

I couldn't make it last night. But they did one of my sketches; the kings speech 2. How did that go down?

Some great laughs. The guy had the voice for the part, if you know what I mean.
Cool

I echo what Ponderer said about the RR team and Marc's recordings.

Further echoed...

ecohed for a third time - great to have a recording of the sketches

Is there a recording available?

Afinkawan very kindly records it and sends the sketches to the people who wrote them

OK, nice one. I look forward to hearing mine at some juncture.

Thanks all, you're very welcome.

I'll get the sketches out ASAP. Depends how much attention my boss pays to what I'm doing tomorrow :)

"Your sketch was certainly one of the best received on the night, so you can feel very pleased with yourself"

Oh, that's nice to know. Thanks.

Yes, definitely went down well. Out of interest, was it something you sent to Parsons & Naylor back in the day? That "I am a..." format was fun to write in - wish they'd carried on

It was a top night, I'm still laughing at some of the Real MacGuffins sketches.

Radio Rejects was also very good, all the BCG sketches were top notch.

If I was going to Edinburgh then The Real MacGuffins would definitely be on my list after last night. They're at the Pleasance by the way.
