I went and it was amazing! We had Frank Horrocks filling in for Dave McKusker who was filling in for our regular, Dan Carter Hope. Dan was off in Istanbul doing a gig, Dave got an advert in Prague at the last minute, but Frank was brilliant. Marc recorded it again so we'll see how the quality came out.
Just a note, I know lots of you live outside of London, but if you can it would be great for you to come along and support us. It's a great opportunity to not only hear your work and those of your colleagues but to meet other writers. The Albany is a lovely venue but we pay a small fortune to rent it each month. The actors get paid nothing and are doing it for love. If we want to keep this thing running we need to get a sizeable audience in every time and to spread the word. So, even if you can't get there yourself, help us by sending your cousin or your dog or someone who will laugh loudly and frequently. And just because you don't have a sketch on yourself that night doesn't mean you won't at some point. And you'll still have a good night out!
Just two shows left, 1 June and 6 July, so get the dates in your diaries, book your babysitters and come join us then! And send us more sketches please!
A huge thank you as always to all the writers who submitted stuff and a massive thank you to the writers who came last night! (You know who you are!)(Tim, Peter, Stu, Marc and Rob.)
