Does anybody know the name of this song?

Right, I'm desperate. I've looked all over the interweb and can't find an answer. I now turn to the wonderful BCGers.

It sounds quite trip-hoppy and so was probably released between 1995 and 1997.

Anyone got any clues or answers?

Ta. :)

Can't you just 2580 it on your mobile?

Maybe Catskillz will know? I think he's the resident hip hop man.

I just asked someone music-y and they said they think the trumpet is sampled from Miles Davis's 'Sketches of Spain'.
But that's probably no help.

Not sure about Sketches of Spain being in there, but I haven't listened to that for a few years.

Shazam told me it was a Japanese song called The Way You Look 78bpm, but I don't think that's right.

What's the song on the Sky Movies trailer?

I've had Shazam give some bizarre answers recently too.

Nope.

But I like the feel of it.

Post the answer when you find it! :)

I just listened to Sketches of Spain yesterday. I tried to watch the video and there was barely any sound, even after turning up the volume on my netbook and on YouTube. I'll keep working on it.

Can someone please identify this song. I don't think I'll be able to rest until we know what it is!

Did we find out? Love that sample

It sounds very similar to a Café del Mar band whose name at the moment escapes me. I'll have a think about it.

I missed this thread when it first appeared. I don't recognise the song myself. I never got into the whole Trip Hop thing. It's funny really, because it's a genre of music that came about purley because British accents sound so terrible when rapping.

Trip Hop started in Bristol, didn't it? That's ironic really, because the Bristol accent is one of the few British accents that sounds okay when rapping. There was a brilliant Bristol group called Parlour Talk, on the Acid Jazz label, back in the late '90s, and another good group called Aspects. The Bristol twang sounded great over funky beats.
