An Idiot Abroad Page 4

Yep!
And I never watched it, so it's still at the middle of the film where Karl left it. :)

:D Cool.

And, I don't know where it is, but I believe I kept the envelope too, 'cos Karl had written on it. :$

LOL.

Was it written in shit?

Ha!
He had quite tidy writing if I remember.

There was a note too. It was something hilarious like just "Here you go."

I'm glad you got what I meant. :D

Watching this now. :D Holy shit, the stuff the eat!

Just caught the end of this the other night - I thought it was quality. Good not to have Gervais cackling his arse off at every single thing Karl says...Much better just to let him go. There's a podcast that acompanies the show that you can subscribe to:

http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/an-idiot-abroad-the-official/id394528176

I also found the sky YouTube page where you can watch a load of clips just in case you ain't got sky:

I haven't seen this yet - is it still possible to catch the first episode before the next one goes out?

:D I loved the bit where he was outside while that woman was preparing his meal. When he saw her kill a toad I loved how upset he was 'I looked at the wrong time!' Bless.

I think that was the best bit too. Thought the whole thing was great. It's how travel programmes should be done! Very very funny. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Yes, it's the first time I feel I've ever seen the Great Wall properly and realistically.

And now I don't think I'll bother to see it in real life. See, he's saved me time and money!

So far, that is after seeing one episode, and I hope this changes as the weeks go by, but Carl seems to me to be not only gormless but worse than that...charmless with it. Where is his sense of wonder for Gods sake?? even if he is way out of his comfort zone, surely there must have been something that made him go ...wow...but no, the wall was boring, the food horrendous, they talk funny...
I didnt get any sense of humour coming through from him,I can see why he might be percieved as funny, but it feels to me a like watching someone a bit thick and with no appreciation for the world around him ,saying stupid things, is everyone laughing with him or at him?? Surely the whole concept of the prog is that hes an 'idiot',so we're meant to think that of him.

The comments he makes seem banal and without any real reflection or wit...is he acting?? I wouldnt mind how much he spouted about what a s...t time hes having if he did it with a bit a finesse... I just don't find his kind of 'Im bored and fed up and am stuck ere with nowt decent to eat save Monster Munch funny.
Id like to see a bit more of his personality come through soon, hes got one in there somewhere surely???

Is this the first time you've come across Karl?
I can't imagine what he must seem like to a new viewer.

I liked this show a lot. I liked seeing Karl on his own, without Ricky and Stephen. Although their voices made the odd appearance, he had to hold the show on his own. He's a funny bloke, without knowing it.

An Idiot Abroad and the original XFM shows are the best things they have done as a threesome.
