On a positive note, College of Comedy part 3 and the new Sitcom Mission competition is imminent.

I didn't enter this one as I had nothing suitable, but do you know what the next one will be about?

Quite a narrow brief this one, it's to write a sitcom pilot based on the Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Get writing, folks!

Can I have half a lager instead?

I would love to write that. I'd have the bloke from Fingerbobs living next door and everything.

Yeah, it's not a very nice feeling to be in the 285 Club. I wish I could read one of the shortlisted scripts to see if my effort was seriously deluded.

I too wish we could read what we're up against and what exactly made the Beeb choose them

I'll see about posting the winner after the showcase on 4 December. It's not really fair to post extracts from what's essentially work in progress.

Good writing will always win through.

From the Nun's Priest Tale via Steptoe and The Inbetweeners.

Good character, good plot and some decent jokes is all you'll need.

Shame I struggle at all 3. But my puns are punbelievable.

Yes of course good writing always wins but Micheal said that the quality this time was high so even good writing hasn't got through as there can be only six winners.

Thanks Micheal, that would be great to read some extracts

Yes, thanks Micheal. That would be useful and a bit of pay-off for those that entered!

With respect, Don - bollocks! I am not going to sit down and write 280 or so individual emails.

Hope you remember not to include your phone number thesedays, Micheal. The last thing you want is rather-pissed comedy writers bothering you at work.

That's my normal day, Tim.

All the writers' premises sound like they have good potential. Can't wait to see them packed with limp knob gags and relocated to Runcorn. ;)
