Event TV

When TV supposedly means something historic.

Like when everyone gathers round to watch some really significant something on the telly.

I mean these days they're always trying to make it an event but failing.

Real event TV

1 Dennis Potter's last interview.
2 Live Aid, the original Comic Relief.

Feel free to add!

Princess Di's funeral.

I suspect most tuned in to see if the coffin was Y shaped !

I remember seeing an advert that bared a naked female breast. Was about 9 years old at the time, and it was the best day. I knew I didn't imagine it, cos I saw the same ad on a "Controversial Top 10" type show or something not long ago.

Yes I remember the boob day, though my young paduwan I was a student

Theres one with an arse in it these days

And I saw some bollocks on This Morning

What's new?

No I mean real bollocks, hairy bollocks

Oh, right. Had Schofield been drinking again?

Final Ashes test in Summer 2005 was a must watch event. Lots of hype round that.

What terrible events are you responsible for?

The World Cup.
The attacks on the World Trade Center.
The first David Tennant episode of Dr.Who.
That episode of Brookie where Anna Friel lezzed it up.
Seefacts's sketch on School Of Comedy.
Bigotgate.

You monster, especially Seefacts.

Things like 9/11 weren't programs people were eagerly awaiting though, were they? Apart from extremists of course.

It was the ultimate changing home show though?

Did Newsrevue do jokes that week? I genunely wonder.

July 7th I was in a big flatshare none of us could goto work cos of the tubes. So we got some manky beer from the offi made a big curry and had a party with the news instead of music.

That was wrong wasn't it?

Oh one girl was a photographer so she cycled off to get some snaps.

Well, there's always tonight's The One Show. With Jason 'The New Peter Kay' Manford and new thingy lady.

That's bound to be excellent. I mean to say, the guest is Whoopi Goldberg!

I have precious few things to pride myself on in life, but one of them is that I have never seen The One Show and nor do I ever expect to.

I too have precious few things to pride myself on in life, but never having seen The One Show isn't one of them.

You're a better man than me, Griff, a better man.
