Patton

Image

General Patton famously pissed in the Rhine as he lead his troops across it into Germany, as some sort of statement of contempt for the Nazis. It made for a good photo, but wouldn't it have been even better if he'd taken a dump in it? Or bored a hole in the riverbank and f***ed Germany in the ass?

Had you been Patton, what would you have done?

Enhanced the length of my weiner before the press photographer said 'smile'.

Well, it was a cold March day.

I'd never heard that but it's no surprise after watching the movie. If he hadn't been a general he'd have been in a secure mental hospital somewhere.

What was that Rod Steiger quote about why he turned down the role, in which 2nd choice G.C.Scott won an Oscar for? Something very unflattering to Patton. Ironically Steiger played Napoleon in the movie of that name in the same year, or was he making a point about how far he'd go in playing psychopathic military leaders?

My granddad served under Patton and heard him speak many times. In one instance, he was only about 20 feet away from him. He wasn't crazy about the movie. Just thought I'd mention that.

I loved that movie. George C Scott is a legend.
