I mean series 2 was a lot better but there was only so much they could do with such punchable extras. Albeit the Dr one was ok when he became a zombie.
Torchwood... Page 36
I don't remember that one.
You know died and came back but was still dead?
Oh right, yeah. Wasn't too impressed. Must admit, I preferred series one to two. 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang' was a personal favourite. However, Children of Earth now takes that slot.
I liked Owen and Tosh. However, I hated Ianto - he's dead!! Yay!!!

Sounds like something an MP would come out with.
Quote: sootyj @ July 13 2009, 3:16 AM BSTthat.
Ianto most of the time was the big girls blouse who made the coffee.
I liked his character, certainly more so than the two they killed last series.
Quote: sootyj @ July 12 2009, 11:03 PM BSTIt was good TV, albeit the Sunday Times slated it.
You can't please everyone.

Unless, of course, you hand out free money.
Quote: Curt @ July 13 2009, 3:06 AM BST*Although I want to ask if anyone has heard any rumors for the future of the show? Because to me that last 10 minutes of the final episode looked like a 'farewell and thanks for watching' kind of show.
There is apparently a potential fourth series ready to go if the BBC want it, which you would imagine they would do after the success of this mini-series. Hopefully, if there is, they'll keep it more like this story in the main.

Wellity, wellity, look who crawled out of their dork hole!
I'm just foolin' Stott, you're alright. Seriously, you're a cool guy. I mean it! Hey, we should hang out some time. I'm not kidding! I'm having a thing at my place Friday night, why don't you come along? And bring your swimsuit, it's going to be a pool party. Looking forward to it, man! Catch you later, buddy - eight o' clock, don't be late!
*has Matt turn up at his house in his shorts only for him to discover it's not a pool party at all, and further humilates him in front of all the hot girls by taking photos of his weedy, shivering little frame and then, by boinking the pretty girl Matt likes who works on the school yearbook committee, has the image committed to everlasting memory in a devastating turn of douchosity that scars Matt forever and instils in him lifelong trust issues*

Pretty much typical Friday night then.

Quote: sootyj @ July 13 2009, 3:16 AM BSTN.B. did you watch 4-5 hours of TV in one sitting? Hardcore!
Pfft. That's nothing.

Quote: Aaron @ July 11 2009, 3:04 PM BSTWell supposedly a fourth series is all planned, written, and ready to go, just waiting on the Beeb based on this week's ratings.
Quote: Aaron @ July 13 2009, 1:13 PM BSTPfft. That's nothing.
I once sat down and watched six series of Only Fools and Horses back to back. Am never doing that again. I didn't like that show for six months after.
Jiminy Crickets!

Why is David Cross' head exploding?
Well at least the five parter didn't end in the usual RTD manner, of reversing time and making everything the same as it was at the start of episode one. Like he's done with Doctor Who for the last few years.
Yes, this Torchwood was vastly superior to the previous two series, but not without it's poorer bits:
A second episode that revolved entirely around Captain Jack's rescue.
The rather cheap death of Ianto.
An ending that didn't really have enough time spent on it.
Also, and this isn't necessarily a criticsm, as the lead character, Jack Harkness had very little screen time compared to some of the other players. Almost as though Barrowman wasn't trusted to carry the thing off.
Still, enough to warrant a fourth series. We know what Torchwood is best at doing now. Being Quatermass.
