I'm sick of hotmail/live and I don't get on with gmail or yahoo. Anyone happy with their email provider and wish to recommend it? I like to keep things simple, not get the page bogged down with other "social" services and f**king adverts and poorly written code. Is it worth buying your own email account and managing it yourself, or is that pointless?

I've always had Hotmail and I'm sticking with it. Especially since the latest update- it's got hella user-friendly.
The new hotmail is icky! Gmail is ok, may stick with that but it's not great. Yahoo is too messy. I like things clean looking.
Leevil you're on a mac aren't you? Why are you even dealing with browser log-ins, use the free mac Mail client.
Yeah, but it's a shared Mac. Plus, I access many computers so webmail is ideal.

I want 4 folders (Indox, sent, trash, saved) and I want it to load quickly and not load any other crap, like the social networking services I don't give a crap about. Is there a way to customize Gmail?
OK, I just played with the settings. I got it down to looking very basic. Which is pleasing to my eye. I just hate having graphics everywhere, I must have some sort of mental disorder. But yeah, thanks for your help. Looks like Gmail is my best bet.
Ah, just remembered. Another thing that bugs me is that I have a separate Google account and YouTube account. I have to keep switching between the two. YouTube is constantly asking me to link them, but to no effect.
