Back from Ed a few days ago, there were ups and downs.
Daniel Kitson, has a good show, but a 10 a.m show which is packed with so much emotion and subtle humour, it was never really going to hit the mark IMO, he did address this at the begginning of the show, which was odd. Also, it was 90 minutes long and could have been cropped to an hour easily. But hardcore fans can't get enough.
John Bishop, was firm, not hilarious but a fantastic storyteller.
Jim Jeffries, I'm a massive fan of Jim, especially his 'Hellbound' and 'Swear to God', but this guy needs help! It was quite sad to see I thought. We were told he will be late, me and my gfriend saw him sneak in, off his face, not alcohol. Alot of the material was raw, he tells us about his depression and the fact he was suicidal and that he's not happy, he's eyes were glazed and he wasn't there at all, like a robot, just saying lines. At one point just sat on the stage floor with his legs crossed. But he's massive in America! His story about dating a pornstar in L.A is funny though!
Jarred Christmas, absolute showman. There was about 30 of us in the room, and to get the energy going in a tiny poky room must be some feat, he did it though!
Sarah Millican, she was brilliant. Made me belly laugh, fantastic show.
Doc Brown, talented guy, but a weak show I thought.
Seann Walsh, this guy will be big, made me laugh more than any other comic. He's got talent, he's also got himself a place on Michael McIntyre's comedy show too!
Saw lots of other free shows; some shit, some good. Lots of rich over dramatic kids there putting on shite shows just for something to put on their CV before uni and to tell granny.
Never been to Ed before, really is a fantastic vibrant place, going next year!
