Seeing as how I live in Teesside and Mark lives in Hampshire, it would have to be a very big tower.

BIG UP TO THE TEESSIDE MASSIVE. Or something.

Just thought I'd add this blog post I did about the Edinburgh Festival Fringe '96 and my meeting with a drunk Glaswegian Eric Cantona lookalike.

I'm off there again in a few hours so I'll compile an altogether more relevant article from this year's event later this week. :)

I'm hoping the Greg Davies and Kevin Eldon shows come to London, so's I can see them.

Just a plug for our Edinburgh coverage as I'm not up here getting cold and wet for the fun of it: https://www.comedy.co.uk/fringe/

Even if you're not going to Edinburgh there's plenty of interest inside our Fringe area I think, including interviews, features, news and more. The videos of Brendon Burns and Tim Vine mucking about on BBC News are quite funny.

I see Tim Vine has been awarded the best joke award with "I've just been on a once-in-a-lifetime holiday. I'll tell you what, never again."

Just saw Stewart Lee doing his Vegetable Stew at The Stand and he was on superb form. He seemed to be enjoying himself much more than he was last year. I don't think it's hyperbollocks to say that he is an absolute master of stand-up.

Did you see the link I posted in the DVD bargains thread? Stewart Lee Stand Up Live DVD for £3.99.

No I didnt. I didn't even realise there was a DVD bargains thread. I think folks should pay full price for any Stewart Lee product, because it really is worth it. It's not called Stewart Lee Stand Up Live is it?

Nope silly me, I'm thinking of the title of the new Dave Gorman DVD. It's Stewart Lee: Stand Up Comedian.

For those interested, the announcement of the winner of the comedy award takes place today at 2pm.

We were just looking through our Edinburgh photos and there was one of a guy who had turned himself into a black and white version of Charlie Chaplin along the Royal Mile. My daughter said "He's not real" and I said "Yes he is, he's Charlie Chaplin." "No he's not, he's Long and Hardy!"

Stan and Ollie in some early porn perhaps?

Stan and Ollie in some early porn perhaps?

Well, one pieces of Stan Laurel knowledge I know of (thanks to one of the QI game DVDs) is that Laurel once had a teacher at school called "Master Bates".

And the winner is... Russell Kane!

Best newcomer is Roisin Conaty.

Panel prize goes to Bo Burnham.

TearyUnfresh from the fringe, Enjoyed Colin Hoult,Arth Smith, Flanagan disappointed with Jon Richardson. (Theatre) No a Billy he's a Tim. Is grabbingly Good. Newsbrunch,, there I was enjoying, 'Clegg house minder'. 'Sherlock'. and Blood diamonds was excellent. Then entered a Tassauds Sam Cam sketch to my mind to similar to one I had sent in , (although I prefered my punchline) From then I just sat in the darkness amongst the sparse crowd, miming heckles.

Everyone is disappointed with Jon Richardson. Even he is. Yo ho ho. Twerpy twunt with a horrible buzzy radio voice.

And his half witted half arsed "will this do" shite. Who put these people on radiowaves?
