Breaking up is hard to do

1. INT PUB MAN CHATTING TO HIS FRIEND

MAN
Did she take it well?

MAN2
I think so. She was upset but I'm hoping we can stay friends.

2. EXT MAN2 COMES OUT OF PUB. AS HE STEPS OUT HE SEES A PIECE OF STRING ON THE FLOOR. HE LOOKS AROUND PUZZLED AND PICKS UP THE STRING. HE SLOWLY FOLLOWS THE STRING AROUND A FEW CORNERS UNTIL HE COMES TO THE END WHERE THE STRING IS ATTACHED TO A NOTE. THE NOTE SAYS 'LOOK UP'. HE LOOKS UP TO SEE A MASSIVE BILLBOARD PICTURE OF HIMSELF READING THE NOTE AND LOOKING PUZZLED, WITH THE WORD 'TWAT' ABOVE HIS HEAD.

The string idea is nice, but I kind of expected something more sinister, or intricate, more Warner Brothers, was going to happen to him (like a rope trap, or an anvil).
