Greatest Sitcom Episode Page 5

I've been re-watching all of Blackadder recently in order to compile a new BCG guide to the show, and maintain that The Black Adder (Series 1) is just as good as any of the rest - just very different in style and tone.

Yeah, I might have to retract any slagging off I gave that series!
Is still very enjoyable, despite not being my favourite.

Is 2nd only to BA 2 imoo, but I actually prefered it to watch. Blessed was perfect for his part and practically carried the series while Atkinson was struggling with his character; it got a stack of medieval references in, which weren't exactly chronologcal, from memory, but it got the flavour of chaotic medieval history very well.

My favourite episode of all Blackadder is the (5th?) episode in BA 1 where the despicible witchfinder meets his match, this is one of the cleverest and best sitcom episodes ever made, imoo.

My favourite sitcom being Only Fools then I must say an epsiode from that.

Jolly Boys Outing was great.
Mother Nature's Son excellent.
Heroes and Vilains probably the best. 21.3m on Christmas Day 1996, can't all have hated it.

Surprised nobody's mentioned last episode of Blackadder Goes Forth. I would either go for the Hancock's Half Hour episode entitled 'East Cheam Centenary', or an '83 Summer Wine episode entitled 'Cheering Up Ludovic'.

For radio comedy, People Like Us - The Artist, would be very high on my list.

The specials from "The Vicar of Dibley" were always good value.

"Poor" from season two of Ab Fab, is pretty great - where they think they have to save money and make a complete disaster out of living normally for a day.
Also - "Small Opening" from series four - where Saf has written a play about her life.

"Bottom" - series two episode "Culture" where Richie tries to have a night of culture with Eddie - which ends up an hysterically awful parody of upper-middle/upper class antics.

Final episode - "Blackadder" 4.

Being from NYC, I don't get to see all the Britcoms. But, I don't see how anything can be better than Fawlty Towers. As for which episode, take your pick. Every single show was absolutely hilarious.

I genuinely can not think of a sitcom episode I have enjoyed/wet myself to more than The Work Outing (Gay!) from S2 of The IT Crowd. I've seen it dozens of times yet it still gets me.

Best bit: Where the police arrest the ginger haired/bearded 'wheelchair thief'. :)

It is an absolute belter.

Spaced: 'Gone' (Finger guns episode)

Grand strand this.

For me,

Fawlty Towers - Communication Problems.
Frasier - Ham Radio
Blackadder 4 - Final episode
Hancock - (radio) The CB radio one/the Archers send-up
Bleak Expectations (radio) - Absolutely any one from series 1.
Bottom - 's Out
US Office - Jim & Pam on the boat.
OFAH - The episode with the nuclear shelter.

There are three that stand out for me. First is Only Fools & Horses (Jolly Boy's Outing), probably their finest episode. The other two are from The Office. Episode 4 series 1 and also episode 4 series 2.

Some of my favourites are:

"Elelphant and Hens" episode from Black Books where Bernard and Manny try to write a childrens book.

And two from The IT Crowd:
"The Dinner pary"- when Jen Holds a dinner party
"Facespace"- the spoof of Social Media sites.
