I'm enjoying it. And isn't Sherlock Holmes one of the prototype for most of uber detectives, whether they be Columbo, Monk or House.
Of course, some of the classic Holmes films from the 1940s starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce (my avatar) were also set in contemporary times, with several involving Holmes and Watson stopping the Nazis.
