ChegwinGate

I don't go on Twitter that much but there was a bit of a furore over Keith Chegwin Tweeting a few old jokes & some that might be attrributed to other comedians.

I could see their point, especially if he's Tweeting jokes that Comedians are currently using in their acts.
And he didn't seem that bothered when pulled up on it.
But I was a bit taken aback by the sheer level of vitriol sent his way.
And the amount of people involved.
There were some quite funny comments on the subject, but a lot of it was just plain nasty.
Maybe he deserved everything he got, but it seemed over the top to me & wasn't a very good advert for Twitter.

Poor Cheggars.

I though Twitter was there for the recycling of old toss.

He is very funny on Twitter. He hasn't really made clear whether he's been trying to pass off these jokes as all his own, or whether he's just posting up jokes (some his some not) to amuse people.

If he has been pretending they're all his then that's out of order, but I don't see how he could be, he must know anyone can read them and people are going to recognise them from current comedians' acts. He can't be that stupid.

I'm waiting for him to do a Gillian 'Do you really think this is GM's twitter account despite the massive evidence that it is?' Mackeith.

A guy I know is about to direct a movie starring Keith Chegwin. God knows what the story's about.

I heard they were doing a new Mad Max film; could the two be linked?

No, Mel Gibson's going to be doing that, in fact his recent antics were down to someone challenging him that he wasn't Mad enough to play the part again.

Just read a few jokes from the Chegwin twitter. I can't imagine anybody wanting to claim ownership of them.

Some of them are funny!

He'll be cast as an American dad won't he? I read it in Radio Times ages ago.

I think the new Mad Max movie stars Charlize Theron. No Cheggars or Gibson.

Cheggers played Fleance in Roman Polanski's version of Hamlet.
