Bit of Stand Up

Been doing a few Open Mics for a few months now (done about 8 or 9) and did my first 10 min last night (although I ran a little short!) It was also some fresh material.

(oh...I'm quite tall - hence the opener)

(oh, oh....I'm performing under my real name, hence no Mr Lewis..in case anyone was confused/gives a toss!)

Good to see you're doing some more. Funny stuff and a well constructed set. Maybe you could have had your son performing a few more 80s action film cliches. Explaining Lethal Weapon got a good laugh from me.

One other point I would make is that perhaps you should slow down your delivery a little bit. Sounded a little quick to me at times. It seemed to be more towards the start of the set, so maybe that was just nerves.

The delivery thing is a nightmare.... I really tried and in my head I was going slow! When I practice at home it was 10 dead.....somewhere I lost over a min on stage from rushing it!!!

I'm sure that'll come with time.

Pretty good I thought As Ben says, it's more the delivery you need to work on, you come across as perhaps a tad uncomfortable, I dare say down to being quite new at it, and this means you rush a bit and some of your lines come out a little garbled, or not as elegantly as they could. But even with that, it has the makings of a good ten minutes. Loved the Yippie-kie-aye gag.

The explaining Lethal Weapon joke is very funny. You've got a good confidence and some nice material there - looking forward to seeing you on the circuit sometime.
