Writing or typing..?

Which do you find more productive / beneficial etc for writing?

Do you write on paper for stand up and type for making sketches etc?

Discuss.

Or else.

I used to write everything down on paper first, from ideas to the first draft; but I now find that more and more I go straight onto the laptop. I certainly never write any of a script out anymore, always straight onto the computer.

Typing but pen and writer for initial noodling and drawing pictures of cocks.

Wax tablet.

I'm not sure I've ever written anything down. I generally get the idea sorted in my head and then get writing dialogue. Mind you, that's for sketches. I imagine if I wrote a sitcom then I'd do a bit more planning, but that garbled nonsense would still be typed. I'm saving the planet, maaaaaaaaaaaaaan.

I use a basic ipood.

By that I mean I have a piece of tupperware lid and then I scratch my ring.
My wrtings being literally and figuratively shit.

I Dictaphone a lot of ideas and dialogue. But I also scribble down on paper when an idea comes to me. All things are typed up but most things start of on the Dictaphone.

Those tapes could be worth a few bob in years to come.
I'd probably pay for one of them right now.

Not on here James, I wouldn't want to start a Bidding war.

I used a dictaphone years ago to remember lines when I did a bit of drama.
It's definitely a good way of recording ideas quickly when they spring to mind.
