That Mitchell And Webb Look - Series 4 Page 24

Nice episode, shame about the ending. The X-Factor sketch was brilliantly written.

PHOOEY! Last week's Blackadder observation was flimsy and throwaway and there merely to open the door to a few sketches. There was no intellectual weight behind it.

No wayz.
They made me admit that I thought the Blackadder end of series ending was a bit mawkish, then the very next week made me nearly shed a tear with their own mawkish end of series ending.
Thus proving me a fickle stupid hypocrite. :)

Joking aside, that was no way a coincidence, contradiction or mistake.

I'd quite like to see a Sorry! remake starring Mitchell. :$

Haven't seen all of this yet cause I was having a nap. But I did enjoy the Sorry! exchange very much. And not entirely fantastical that the Beeb would remake Sorry! with Mitchell. Funny because it's true.

Not the best series, but an enjoyable way to spend half and hour every week so I'm not complaining. I too enjoyed the Sorry! sketch, esp. the reference to Jam & Jerusalem being axed "you insensitive bastard!". Wasn't sure what to make of the Sherlock Holmes one- it was moving and then the titles roled and I thought 'oh, that's the end of the series'. However, it was set up by the Blackadder sketch before and I think it was well done.

I've go to say though, I do adore the 'Remain Indoors' sketches. So beautifully dark. Just standing there holding hands at the end. Great!

The weird series of cat sketches were crazy enough to make me laugh. The DVDs must come with a cat's paw on a stick!

I must admit, despite not particularly enjoying the original, I'd be quite intrigued by how Mitchell may be able to pull off an updated Sorry!. Could work quite well for him I think.

He's certainly got that asexual thing going on. (Sorry David)

The sketch itself actually ended on an incontinence gag punchline "looks like a two pipe problem", but without any laughter.

I thought it was weird that no one laughed there, but I suppose they cut it out to keep the ending sombre how they wanted it.

Maybe nobody laughed. Certainly after Sherlock admitting "he knew" the punchline just felt tragic, not funny.

But there's always some bloody oblivious idiot in the audience who laughs at the wrong bits.

I'm not sure why they put that punchline in.
If the sketch had been lighthearted then maybe it might have worked.
I'm not sure why they even did that sketch.
Unless they were hoping to get a quick audition in for some serious roles in the future.

Bloody Peter Kay!

Bloody Peter Kay!

He was probably having a bit of a giggle about Etch-a-sketch, or something.
