Tory Cuts thread

I've started this thread for anyone who wants to moan about (or celebrate) Tory cutbacks under the new coalition government.

Obviously references to 'Wiggins', 'Brasso' and 'Dicky Back Ride' are permitted in relation to George Osbourne.

I'll start the ball rolling:

Scrapping the Labour's Child Trust Fund - you evil c**ts.

Sorry that's great and I whole heartedly support. Labor's plan to get everyone on some sort of benefit was idiocy at extremis.
£500 trust funds as a starter for kids from families on longterm unemployment or poor salaries.

Great.

Hurling it at everyone a colossal waste.

Along with theoretically giving the Queen and Richard Branson's mum winter fuel allowance.

Benefits should be there for those who need them. Not flung about like the excrement of a socialist monkey with a loose bowel.

Scrapping ID cards is good, mind.

Well it's gone for everyone - rich or poor. Democratic eh?

You think the Tories will let you keep Doom Lord for your avatar? You'll be on Sgt. Streetwise before the month's out.

First thing raised was capital gains tax. Fantastic they're actually soaking the rich not encouraging idiots to take out mortgages couldn't afford like Labor.

Cuts have got to go some where.

I do think making more academies is a daft waste of money.

And to be fair, if Labour had got back in they'd have to be making cuts now.

Absolutely. I was really disgusted to see on BBC news this morning an area in which half of the people there were on benefits. It was worked out that people were actually better off on benefits than in full time employment too. Something needs to change.

Something needs to change.

But will it? Eh?

Vanessa's been talking about that on her radio show this morning. Some shocking stories.

To get people off benefits you need to do the following things.

1 Provide financial security to people on flexible contracts. e.g. if you get half hours one week you can still pay the rent.

2 Provide a better minimun wage or a top up for people on very low wages. (tax credits sort of does this but not enough). To stop people becoming the impoverished employed.

3 Provide health treatment for people off of work with chronic treatable conditions.

4 Invest in areas of high unemployment.

5 Force employers to consider. exoffenders, learning disabled, mentally ill people etc.

These things actually cost more than getting people off benefits. Which is why no government has really done anything about chronic unemployment.

Benefits are set at an acceptable level of poverty.

The fact that so many people are in full time employment and as poor as the unemployed.

That is the real shame.

WTF's Vanessa?

Feltz.

No Derek & Clive fans or Eagle readers on here then? No wonder you vote Tory.

Was it Lombard Street or canary Wharf? They're all on benefits up there. £3 Trillion worth at the last count.

I can't remember, caught it whilst I was moisturising myself this morning.
