If that's the one I think it is, then it's the bleakest ending everrrr.

The black guy waving and getting shot dead by the white folk and tosed on a bonfire? Yep! Grim, but great.

The end of The Planet Of The Apes remake, with the monkey cops and monkey Abe Lincoln statue. Errr

That's the fella.

Ouch!

Alias was a bit disappointing. (SPOILER ALERT) Although it is quite funny thinking of Arvin Sloane trapped under some rubble in a cave for all eternity.

I liked MisFits ending for that reason. :)

The West Wing rounded things off nicely with those last two seasons where we followed Jimmy Smitts attempting to become president.

They did that at the end of an Angel season. His son locked him in a metal coffin and dropped him to the bottom of the sea. That was good too.

Are movies allowed?

If so, I'd say The Italian Job. I saw it for the first time a couple of months ago, and the end took me totally by surprise.

Eh??? Had you not turned your TV on for forty years or spent any time at all in the company of young men? Your revelation has taken me totally by surprise! Astonishing.

Pull your jaw off the floor Alfie, anytime in the last 30 years when I was in the company of young men, watching the Italian Job was the last thing on my mind. ;)

You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off.

:D

If films are allowed, the one that jolted me out of my seat, all those years ago, was Easy Rider.

:O

Arlington Road has a cracking ending that knocks your socks off.

If films are allowed, then Von Ryan's Express.

Film - Garage, a rare Irish movie, had a classic French style symbolic, tragic ending with a touch of humour (the shoes and socks), a briliant denouement.

Erm, shouldn't there be a spoiler alert on this whole thread?
