I hate it when Hollywood assumes the dumbness of Americans. 9 times out of 10 actors in Hollywood 'swords and sandals' flicks have English accents (even if not English, a la Gylenhaal in PoP). Though sometimes they have Scottish accents (a la Gerard Butler in 300). As if we find it more historically accurate if Commodus orders the destruction of Maximus with an English brogue.

Also, there were a lot of blue eyed Persians in that trailer...

Then again, even the actors over here who perform Shakespeare are guilty of speaking with the wrong accents. They usually speak with so-called R.P. accents, but that accent didn't exist back in Shakepeare's time.

At least he looks a bit swarthy.

Isn't this based on a computer game? So who the hell cares who they cast.

The original Prince of Persia was white.

And blonde.
