Cartoon group project

Now that I'm back on the site, I'd be interested in working with other people create a cartoon as a group project. I'd be much happier concentrating on the animation, I'll still pitch in with ideas but I'd like to create something really funny that we could perhaps launch on YouTube. I'd like to work on something that could start out as short cartoons but move onto something longer with set characters. Another idea I had was have a show based on a family who runs a crappy seaside pub and based the show on what happens to them and there customers. In fact I've already got a bar scene and characters (a barman, landlord and bouncer) designed in Flash, which I did years ago, wouldnt take me long to rig them up

Maybe the first cartoon could go like this:

Man walks into bar, bloodied and the bar man asks 'What happened to you?'

The scene then switches to this:

SKETCH. THE ALMIGHTY FOOTBALL FAN
EXT: PARK. A FOOTBALL FAN IN A RED FOOTBALL SHIRT RUNS THROUGH A PARK, CHASED BY YOBS IN BLUE FOOTBALL SHIRTS. THE YOBS CARRY BATS AND KNIVES.
YOB 1:
United scum.
YOB 2:
Kill him.
THE CHASED MAN JUMPS OVER A HEDGE AND HIDES. HE'S LOST THE YOBS FOR A MOMENT BUT THEY HAVEN'T GIVEN UP LOOKING FOR HIM. THE MAN PUTS HIS HANDS TOGETHER AND PRAYS.
CHASED MAN:
God, help me please.
THERE'S A BLAST OF WHITE LIGHT AND A HUGE MAN, IN WHITE ROBES, WITH A WHITE BEARD STANDS BEFORE HIM.
CHASED MAN:
Oh God, thank you. You've come to save me.
THE MAN THROWS HIMSELF AT GOD'S FEET, BUT GOD KICKS HIM AWAY. THE MAN LOOKS UP IN SURPRISE. GOD RIPS OPEN HIS ROBES TO REVEAL A BLUE FOOTBALL SHIRT.
GOD:
You're f**ked, Sunshine. (TO RIVAL FANS) Hey, lads. He's over here, lets get him!
END SKETCH.

We could start off with random cartoons, and link them into a bar discussion somehow and eventually build up the bar characters, or link the sketches somehow, so later on we'll have a longer show

Here's another idea

Take really interviews of celebrities, but put in a cartoon interviewer, and change his questions to alter the meaning of the celebs answers

I have shed loads of skits that would make interesting cartoons, fancy a peak?

Put'em on here. The best shows are hardly ever written by just one writer anyway, so lets combined all our skills and see if we can create something really funny.

Give him Attarock!

David I read that post to quickly and am glad you are bigging up one of my sketches and not promoting male rape!

Thanks

Can't I do both?

I think the interviewer idea I had above could work, maybe not as a cartoon show, like I'm proposing we do together, but just as a few sketches.

Find exisiting interviews but change the questions that the celeb has answered, so for instant someone might of originally said

Did you enjoy making the movie

The celeb says, oh I loved it, it was great.

Our cartoon interviewer asks a different question, which is over dubbed the original question. However, I'm pretty sure you could get sued doing that

They did that in a Comedy Lab offering recently, it was pretty poor.

Original ideas are hard to come by aren't they! Well back to the drawing board.

We need to come up with something new, something that'll make people say, did you see THAT

I'd like to see some of the winning sketches in the Skit Comps animated, those that it fits anyway.

I think raher than just animating random sketches you would be better off finding or creating a comedy character that you can put into a series of different scenario. Something like the legendary Mister Bluesman.

Hey Scott, good to see you on here again. That football fan sketch seems familar. ;) Whatever happened to Barstools and Locals anyway?

Still being written as a book. I've been doing a lot of animation lately, for work, and I'm thinking I should do something more fulfilling with it instead,l I just need a good idea, sketch, script to work with.

Are you looking to do something similar to your original barstools idea? Sitcom mixed with sketches sort of thing?
