RIP Ronnie James Dio

How sad, Black Sabbath did some great stuff with Ronnie plus the Holy Diver era.

Rock on Ronnie Ode Pal.

'There are kings and queens who blind your eyes and steal your dreams . it's Heaven and Hell.'

(Sorry, just added his whole name to the title to stop people thinking Corbett is dead like I just did!)

Just heard this myself. Too soon.

:( RIP

Was never much of a fan, but I'm sad to see him go.

I wish everyone would stop dying

Huh, I didn't know he was in rainbow... I know little of rock music before 1998 sorry...

I was mesmerized by the Butterfly Ball clip as a kid and now still routinely play the song on CD or in my head. Great voice for great tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sn1UqbbbqQ

Love his music and I'm always entranced by his fantastic voice and songwriting abilities.

R.I.P. :( :(

RIP Ronnie
I remember him from his Rainbow days, but got out of hard rock after that.

I have a feelign that was Graham bonnet singing.

Still sad to hear about Dio's passing he was one of the great heavy rock vocalists

... not to forget the recent stint with Heaven & Hell, essentially the early 1980s Black Sabbath lineup under different moniker. They managed to release a great slow and heavy album a year ago and had some great live shows, at least so the DVD and some TV appearances caught on tape suggest.

Saw him several years ago in Riga as solo artist. Dio was one of the few singers who actually could hit almost all the notes of the songs from his youth.

Stargaze from Rainbow's second album "Rising" is definitely one of THE hard rock songs of all time, and the album itself is fantastic as well.
