The all in one Consolidatorised Cricket Thread Page 15

Well I can't call this one, it's too close, only that I doubt very much we'll get a draw! Promises to be another great day's cricket though, numbers 1 & 2 in the world battling it out for top spot and the quality of play is fantastic.

It may depend on how Trott is, whether he can play at all, because every run is vital now. It doesn't look good on that front so maybe India have the edge. Really is time for Bell to follow through now and deliver, we know he's a classy player, we just need to see him show the sort of tenacity that Trott seems to have in buckets.

Cricket eh?

Couldn't make it up could you.

Wouldn't see that happening in Football.

It was all very interesting. I think everything turned out right, but Bell was dumb and not for the first time. It was a strange set of circumstances that led to it - it could only have happened on the last ball of a session and if the fielder innocently thought it must have been four. Shame they couldn't have made an announcement before the teams came back out.

That's cricket...why tell folks that have paid £60 to be there whats going on!!!!

Wickets falling now.

We still don't have enough runs. :(

Not really following the India game but I see Broad got a hat trick

thats more like it fella! :)

A very sporting decision by India to allow Bell to continue.

It seemed a legitimate wicket so they didn't have to.

Before the game they decided not to have referals for LBW didnt they?

hmm

bet theyre kicking themselves now!

Yes, though replays show a bit of bat.

Great test match so far, can't believe there's still two days left. The highlight for me is still Blowers on TMS commentating on Broad's hat trick. It all happened when I was heading back from holiday and I nearly drove off the road punching the air in ludicrous, reflected sporting glory.

Bell End Causes Controversy

It's a suberb game with everything happening, injuries, a strange (non)dismissal, odd lbw decisions, a wildly swinging ball, slightly dodgy pitch, slightly dodgy fielding, dodgy umpiring, wickets tumbling, centuries, fast scoring, an amazing gesture of sportsmanship, it's got the lot. And there is indeed two days left!

Love the way Five's highlights took a break at tea with Bell "out" on the scorecard.

I've always found the way they do the highlights a bit weird - they clearly record all the links at the time in the days highlights that they actually occur. Meaning that at the point they went to that break, they recorded the links assuming he would be out, as was the case at that point.

I can't think of any other sports highlights show that does that?

What sort of bollocking do you think Ian Bell got from Flower last night?

It was schoolboy stuff.

All the problems were because of the fielders reaction. He basically brushed himself down ambled over to the bowl before lobbing it in.

Bell was an arse. But the Indians probably did the right thing.

Well I don't feel that Australia would have been as magnanimoous to England in an Ashes duel as India were there. They may have been, but you tend to feel they wouldn't have.

Well well, England on the brink of being world no.1 now, that hasn't happened for a good few years! Probably about 50. A shame that Flintoff and Collingwood couldn't quite stay for the party, as this side's current success owes a lot to their efforts and influence. Colly in particular seemed to galvanise them as a unit and make them scrap harder. England can now come back from a collapse and win matches, that is what the best side in the world has to do. Australia when number one, nearly always turned matches or series around after stumbling.
