Not heard that in ages! Thanks for that. I do love when he gets all romantic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODwFq4zMrHo

I agree with Divine Comedy. Been re-listening to them a lot recently.
I'd say The Sex Pistols are underrated when it comes to talent. The concensus is that they couldn't play, sing or write songs when they could.
I've always wondered why Supergrass were never as big and successful as Blur and Oasis.
Quote: bamalamafizzvaj @ May 5 2010, 7:32 PM BSTCouldn't agree more! It's a shame they'll always be known as the group that had 'that bus song'. Gorgeous melodies, witty lyrics brought together with a beautiful voice.
And the Father Ted theme.

I loved the Professionals. Paul Cook and Steve Jones post Sex Pistols.
Carter USM
The Lonnie Donegan Skiffle Group.
A generation of Rock Greats had previously acknowledged the influence his 50s output.
(What was that fairly recent movie that used a few of his recordings?)
The Pretty Things didn't get the recognition they deserved during their creative heydays.
Same goes for Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band.
The exploding f**k dolls
The Humblebums

That's the Connelly/Rafferty thing, isn't it?
Yep, great stuff, listen to 'her father never really liked me', great stuff
I didn't know Connelly was a professional musician until I saw the documentary on Gerry Rafferty a few months ago on BBC.
I've always been a big Clearlake fan who are underrated, but they're a bit culty so no surprise:

Some of the Connelly stuff is good, but its really for Rafferty that I like them
Trees must be the most underrated band of the 70s folk revival: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hF2GHHCLFTM
Though the even mores short-lived Trader Horne could have been contenders: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8xqH2CeOrs
i think John Foxx must surely be one of the most underrated musicians of all time. He has such a unique and coherent vision that spans his entire career from Ultravox! to his latest work, John Foxx and the Math.
