This thread is made out of Liberal guilt.

Where?

Sunglasses probably should be banned - shit musicians have been hiding their pill-stained eyes and criminal lack of self confidence behind them for years. They are also frequently used to perv secretly over women. I notice Aaron's wearing a pair in his avatar.

Errr

Besdides, it's not only muslims:

Yeah, but the French are f**king nuts, not any kind of example alongside the rest of humanity.

I was referring to a loyalty card, credit card, oyster card, citizen card, driving licence etc that most of us have in their pocket. The card that holds electronic information that the state or related organisations or big business uses to track your likes, dislikes, drinking habits, whereabouts, travel patterns, wealth, criminal convictions etc.

And your Mobile phone.

He looks a right arse.

How the Timms stabbing story was covered.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/may/15/charge-stabbing-mp-stephen-timms

No mention of race, religion or dress there.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1278459/Woman-charged-stabbing-Labour-MP-Stephen-Timms.html

The fifth paragraph:

Choudhary, wearing what appeared to be Muslim dress, allegedly lunged at him and stabbed him twice before being restrained by a security guard and arrested.

Sagal Ahmed,16, a student at Kingsford Community School, was in the community centre in Beckton when the stabbing happened.

'We just heard this big commotion so we ran in to the room,' she said. 'The security guard had grabbed this Asian woman. She was wearing a long black outfit like what Muslims wear and an orangey headscarf. I think she was a Muslim.

'She wasn't saying anything. They were just grabbing her to keep her still. She was really shaking. The Muslim woman seem shocked and distressed. It was the most shocking thing I've ever seen.

They even chase a "moderate Muslim" spokesperson to condemn the attack.

Anyway, point is - the knife was hidden in her clothing! Ban! Ban! Ban!

I thought we'd wrapped this discussion up?

I thought we'd wrapped this discussion up?

Sorry.

It was an orange Burqa.

So I suspect she is Ian Paisley in drag.

In yet another example of Islam's ongoing attempt to conquer the world, I just typed an e-mail message about HDMI cables and the spell checker wanted to change it to "Hamid." Angry

They're making a really big issue over that burka-thing over here. The governement prohibits walking around in public with your face hidden (whether it is a mask, a burka or whatever).

An even bigger thing used to be (of better: still is) wearing a headscarf. According to the law, officials cannot wear religious symbols.

I think they should be more focussed on really important problems. For example: how to compose a government. That would be a start ;-)

Wearing a Burkha may seem a bit eccentric but since when was it the states business to start drawing up a list of what we can and can't wear?
I've noticed compatible religious black dress codes among Catholic nuns, Ana Baptists (Armish for eg) or Hasidic Jews haven't been attacked by cynical politicians jumping on the racist Islamaphobic bandwagon, which make people look identical.

Because one article of clothing effectively encompases almost all the techniques of brain washing. When religions, cults or what ever try to issolate individuals from the world and control them it is never a good thing. And one that the individual should be protected from even if they are unaware of their own opression.

I was reading an article about how fundamentalist Muslim women in Holland were suffering vitamin D deffincey on account of their husbands not letting them out.

This is crazy and it must stop hiding behind the banner of free choice.

Whose to say they're not happy in their brainwashed state? Free will isn't all it's cracked up to be. Sometimes there's comfort in having people telling you how to think and act.

Who says being happy is the be and end all?

I think the Yanks got it right when they enshrined.

"Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

Frankly the Ananbaptists have it right. The only meaningful choice you make is as an independent adult.

I don't believe you'll find anybody arguing that kidnapping is the free choice of the victim. Clearly, these men need to be prosecuted under existing laws.
