Penelope Princess Of Pets Page 2

That was integral to his character. He came across (no pun intended) as quite a sympathetic character.

Yeah, I wish I could write something as clever as that opening

So do your audience. Unimpressed

That he would wank in public? In his office? Where, basically, he's going to get caught? Unless you're a complete mental, no one would do that.

Yeah, I watched a little bit longer, and he did seem like he was supposed to be that, the sympathetic character, the one the audience could empathise with; which makes his wanking in publc thing even weirder.

Yes, it made no sense. It would make more sense for Danny Dyer's character to be doing that.

Well it's not realistic that the woman boss would make a bet with Danny Dyer that she could shag the ginger one, but it happened. It's not realistic that she would pretend the girl model had a willy but that happened too.

It's a SITCOM!

But how can James Buckley's character react to Danny Dyer's when he's just the same type of person for wanking in the office?

He's not. Because he's ashamed of himself for doing it, and was embarrassed on being discovered. Danny on being found wanking would just turn around and spunk in your face.

He was doing it in an open plan office during work hours! Of course he was going to get caught! The argument of it being a sitcom shouldn't cover any bit that doesn't make sense. The characters should still be true to what we're being told they are. Having him openly wanking at work goes against the kind of character the show was trying to say he was. Say it was Peep Show, for example; having Jez do that might seem plausible; but it would seem very out of place to have Mark doing it.

Have you watched the whole episode yet? Or are you making judgements about characters on your feeble five minute attempt?
Hmm?

Does he turn into some sort of 'wanting-to-get-caught-mental-sexual-deviant' after the scene with Danny Dyer reading from his book? If so then I sit corrected! :D

It made perfect sense. Everyone else was in a meeting, or so he thought. IIRC.

Anyway, this is the wrong thread to discuss this in. Let's move on please.

To the wanking thread!...

Yeah, so there was absolutely no chance of anyone catching him! Errr I'm not talking about the action itself anyway, rather that character doing that action. Everyone knows if you want to wank at work, you do it in a toilet cubicle or behind the bins outside.

Yes Aaron, let's move on, you've allowed us to discuss the wrong thing in this thread for far too long! Veeeery slack, tut tut!

He said (later on) that his home broadband was broken, as some sort of excuse.

Anyway, back to Penelope, Princess of Pets, with the talking animals and annoying 'orphan' idiot but, you know, it's a sitcom...

Dan

The only funny thing about P.P.O.P. was her sidekick, the bloke with the wheels on his shoes.
