Penelope Princess Of Pets

No thread for this one, so here it is. I liked it, would like to see more. Out of the Labs I've watched from this years, it's probably the one I liked the most.

I kind of enjoyed it, but I'm not a massive fan of surrealist comedy and am not sure I could cope with a full series of it. It was amusing but not hilarious. And definitely very very weird.

Would this be considered the 'winner' of the Comedy Lab pilots then? Most, if not all of the others seemed to have been damned, slammed and panned from everyone on here.

No.

I saw on another thread some people saying they hated it. And I think Happy Finish got as many thumbs up as thumbs down.

And Filth has a almost as many proponents as opponents too.

Much as I like Kristen Schaal this had the feel of something written by a ten year old trying to be whacky.

Agreed. But although this wasn't very good (like Filth and Hung Out), at least it was original (unlike Filth and Hung Out).

This show's been knocking around for a while now, hasn't it? I saw her show it live a few years ago as part of a stand up night. If I remember right, the BCGs The Cool Mikado contributed to it somehow.
What I saw I remember really enjoying.

I'd never heard of it until now. I liked seeing Julian Barratt on the telly again, and Ruby the bird was rather funny. It was okay.

I think it started out as a Web series.

Wot Stott said. AFAIK this production is new, but it's from a web series; and I think I may have read hint somewhere that a full TV pilot was broadcast in the US too.

I said elsewhere, but I wasn't a fan.

Yeah, it had its moments but wasn't fantastic.

However, I'm beginning to think Julian Barratt is the finest comedy actor in the world. He's never less than brilliant whatever he's doing.

And I thought Filth was very good, btw -- it was a fairly even split of love/hate.

Yeah, I wish I could write something as clever as that opening, with a guy caught having a wank in an open plan office-DURING WORK HOURS!! Filth could have been amazing after that, but it had already lost me.
