The runner

a quick sketch.

Dramatic setting, cold day

you see feet in trainers and white socks running on a road (timpani drums sound)

pan up, see the whole body, a young man running in running gear. (no music just the sounds of running shoes and breathing)

(close up on face) He's breathing hard but is serious, focussed and obviously good at running.

He looks over his shoulder

(timpani drums suggesting impending danger) switch to view tightly packed group of runners all in pro gear 20 metres behind him.

he presses on, breathing heavily. (no music just the sounds of running shoes and breathing)

he looks over his shoulder again

the group of runners are slightly closer (more timpani drums - louder)

he runs harder, grits his teeth and after a few seconds looks over his shoulder again. (no music just the sounds of running shoes and breathing)

the group of runners are right on his tail (timpani drums louder again and then suddenly they stop)

(view of him in the foreground and the runners still tightly packed right behind him)

He stops abruptly, turns and shouts frustratingly....'will you just f**k off!!'

The runners look at their feet in dissapointment, turn and walk off ashamed as he stands with his hands on his hips as he watches them go, he starts running again, shaking his head.

(point of the sketch is to think it's a race but it's really them just following him, maybe they've done it before?)

Like it: a good idea. Hope to see some more of your stuff.

I am liking it, too. Perhaps it would end better if the "followers" take up pursuit of another runner?
