Is that serious? Is that it?

yep, released as 1000 limited vinyl copies for record store day

Heh, it sounds just like one of Joe Cornish's comedy songs on 6music.

My friend queued for an hour and a half to get into the store to buy limited edition vinyl and was offered a chcance to buy the limited edition copy of Blur's new single. However, he declined as he's not a fan, but his mate got one for £4.99, and when they got home they checked on eBay whether it was selling and one went for £120!!!

I'm now glad I didn't go down to the store early to try and buy The Hold Steady. I assume this was at one of the Rough Trade stores?

Yeah it was. He was there at 8am and the store opened at 9.30am. Said there were 100 people in front of him (the first was there at 3.30am). Then there were about 500 behind him.

As much as I like the idea of a day to celebrate the indie stores, I'd be surprised if many of the 1000 Blur singles were bought by anybody other than shop staff.

There's currently about fifty copies on ebay. I'm sure that wasn't really the point of this celebration, was it?

Hear, hear. Echo this in its entirety.
