First record...

To complement the favourite song thread, I thought I'd ask people what their first record they bought was...

Driving in my Car 7" - Madness

or for those that can't remember 7" (Easy Charley!!!) My first CD Single-

Praga Khan - Injected with a Poison (Get your glow sticks out!!!!)

Dance with the devil- Cozy Powell

"Life Line" by SPANDAU BALLET though don't tell the eighties SIMON Le Bon fan club because I hear that lot are quite vicious and still hold grudges.

I eat cannibal by Toto Coelo

5 sexy birds in bin liner dresses!

I belive it was "Do The Bartman" by Bart Simpsons off the Simpsons Sing The Blues album, which i still have and it's still funny to listen to.

'The Legend of Xanadu' by Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich.

Christ I feel old.

That's an amazing album.

Everybody if you can do the Bartman
Shake your body turn it out if you're bad man
Ah front to back to the side yes you can, can
Everybody in the house do the Bartman!

*cough*

There, there. Shall I pop your teeth in this glass?

;)

And in answer to the original question, I really have no idea. Probably something rather embarrassing.

The last CD-album I got (I didn't pay for it) I think was a signed copy of the first Scissor Sisters album. The last I actually bought may very well have been Ozzy's No More Tears though.

... I've always been more of the Napster generation.

Er... it was 'He's Got The Whole World In His Hands' by some gospel choir or other. I was three years old and I saw it when out shopping with my mum. I liked the cover... it had a whole bunch of people from all over the world standing in a BIG hand. Or I thnk it did... it was a long time ago and I may have just imagined it all.

I obviously need a dose of the Proustian Madeleine effect...

Black Beauty theme tune. I was only lickle. My Mummy got it for me. Then my twin brother's came along & as soon as Luke was old enough he ate it. Mummy said he was teething and i must'nt be angry with him. I'd lay awake til the middle of the night, creep into their room and give Luke a kicking in his sleep. I put a pillow over his head so he would not know it was me. His brother got the blame. Poor Andy. I only done that for a week though. It's tiresome battering your toddler brother.

"Whats this Lynne?"

"The theme tune to Black Beauty"

"It's Brilliant!"

Damn Right. Played it like a bastard. Over & over & over again.

Beatles Revolver LP - second hand (50p) turned out to be a very very rare yellow label first edition but during a move it went missing

Single - Stranglers 'No More Heroes' just for the line "Whatever happened to Leon Trotsky? He got an ice pick that made his ears burn"

Totally understated Stranglers humour, combined with a synth arpeggio to die for.

Some of my Dad's stuff - including records - went missing when we moved. Cheeky f**kers.
