My Family - Series 10 Page 9

But compared to the top TV shows for the whole week it's alot further down the list than it used to be. It used to be at least in the top 5 and at least Top 10 shows of the week. It's not a ratings topper anymore.

You right. One episode in series two got 12.54 million! The last series averaged at about 5 million. So it's not really down from there. It's still a lot for nowadays.

It still gets good figures, but the chances of it beating EastEnders or Coronation Street these days are pretty slim, it doesn't grab people's interest in the way it used to.

Appears to by what?

The BBFC have cleared 9 episodes for the series ten DVD release.

http://www.bbfc.co.uk/AVV268246 shows that 10.9 has been cleared.

The official rating for the first episode is now on the BARB site.

4.33 million, up by around 0.2 compared to the overnight figure.

The 34th most watched show during that week and the 20th on BBC1

That's not good. It was expected that the timeshift rating would be much higher. :|

It could possibly be it's lowest rating episode so far.

The very first was the 21st most watched show of that week back in 2000 and the 6th on BBC1.

The episode that achieved 12.54 million was the 9th most watched TV show of the week and 5th on BBC1.

It just can't compete in the way it used to anymore. A shame as it's still good.

Thing is, whilst figures have dropped, it's still doing considerably better that The Old Guys that follows it at the moment. I know that's not really saying much. Unimpressed

Interesting - although I certainly wouldn't take that as gospel. Not yet anyway.

Since the 4th/5th series, they have aways alterated it 7 episodes one series the 9 the next, but I'm sure series 9 had 9 in, so this should be 7, but never mind! But series 10 will have 9, and 11 will have 7.

I know Robert Lindsay and Zoe Wannamaker said that series 11 will be the last, but didn't they say that after series 4? And series 5? And series 6? And series 7? And series 8? And series 9?!? Do you get the picture! :P

They have both said similar things in the past, but not exactly that it would be the last series, only things along the lines of seeing "how they feel" about doing more and it's also "upto the BBC" to want more as well.

They have both been persuaded in the past (probably by money) to continue making it (from around series 7 IIRC).

I imagine it will continue for as long as it does well and for as long as the actors want to continue making it.

Easy way for them to get more money each time.

The episode being aired tonight, I went to see being filmed. So you know Im telling the truth, it will Either start with:

Ben and Michael watching 'My Family' on the TV, and michael says something like 'Why isnt there anything decent on the TV anymore!'

Or it may just roll in at the start with Ben slamming the front door!:P

My favourite episode of the series so far tonight! Really funny and the great star from 'Allo 'Allo! whose name slips me! He gave a really good performance reminiscent of his 'Allo 'Allo! days, great guest starring role and great way to take the piss out of himself. Michael and Janey really have become minor characters in it though, more so than before.

Sam Kelly, also of Porridge and Barbara.
