They shoulda blew the house up and ended it.
My Family - Series 10 Page 18
Another bizarre two-episodes-knotted-together. Loved the Christmas special proper (part 1), and just enjoyed the party-centric second half.
I thought both episodes were pretty funny. A lot better than last year's awful special and this year's series.
Aye, the first half was better than the second, but Craig reminds me of Nick in soooooo many ways! And I also think this has been a pretty good series overall, and Series 11 looks even better!
And, just like that, <poof> it's gone... http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/news/a310997/bbc-axes-sitcom-my-family.html

Robert Lindsay quit the role a year ago, anyway. It would have been nice to have had a final special, though.
Good riddance to awful crap. I hope they don't replace it with another group written kitform sitcom but something original, and a genuine sitcom, not another comdram.

Hats off for them for trying to write this in different way. Table written sitcoms have proved hugely succesful in the States, so I'm glad it was tried here. We probably don't have the money to make it work here, but I'm glad they tried.
And for all of its faults, it was pretty much the only pre-watershed mainstream sitcom in this country and held its own in the ratings. And made a lot of people happy.

Well, the fact it lasted over a decade surely it means it was a roaring success.

Which I pretty much said in my second paragraph. You git.

It got stale years ago and if anything became a bit fresher the last series.
