I never had any fear of Sooty of Worzel Gummidge. It was the Crowman who used to frighten me a little bit, as he often threatened to throw poor Worzel on a bonfire. Of course back then I didn't known the Crowman was actually Catweazle.

I was too scared to watch any of the programme, my sister loved it but I always had to leave the room. The only other thing I can remmeber is that Aunt Sally looked like she put on her make up using Homer Simpson's make up gun.

Aunt Sally was wonderful - with so many admirable qualities. She was shallow, vain, mendacious, fickle, greedy, cruel and a complete glutton for chocolates and cake. Nothing at all like real women. One of the best episodes had two Aunt Sallys - the second being played by Connie Booth.

There is no best episode, only waves of fear.
